The tournament, organised by the Tampere Boxing Association, will feature competition across 10 elite men’s and seven elite women’s weight categories. While the event runs from October 28 to November 2, the competition itself is scheduled from October 30 to November 1, with preliminary bouts on the opening day, semifinals on October 31 and finals on November 1.

BFI president Ajay Singh said the competition would help Indian boxers measure themselves against international opposition while strengthening the country’s depth across Olympic weight divisions.

Our focus is on building depth across Olympic weight categories and ensuring that more Indian boxers get the experience needed to compete at the highest level. Such tournaments are an important part of that process,” said Singh.
