CR Vasco: Vasco da Gama has reached an agreement with River Plate to sign Argentine forward Facundo Colidio, the Brazilian club has said.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
The 26-year-old agreed to a contract that runs until December 2029 after undergoing a medical in Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Vasco confirmed the news on Friday on social media along with a photo of Colidio wearing the club's black and white shirt, reports Xinhua.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Local media reported that Vasco will pay 4.5 million U.S. dollars for 50 percent of the attacker's economic rights, with an option to purchase the remaining 50 percent.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Colidio made 86 appearances for River Plate across all competitions following his 2023 move from Inter Milan.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
The move comes a few weeks after Vasco appointed Pedro Emanuel as their new manager. The 51-year-old signed a deal that runs until December 2027 and will be joined by assistant coaches Rui Gomes and Pedro Correia.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
"The coach will begin working on Saturday to accompany the daily activities and will hold his first press conference on Monday," Vasco said in a statement.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Emanuel replaces Renato Gaucho, who was sacked last month after a poor run of results. His previous managerial experience includes spells at Coimbra, Estoril, Almeria, Al-Ain and Al-Nassr, among other clubs.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Four-time Brazilian champion Vasco are in a battle to avoid relegation, having secured 20 points from the first 18 games of the season.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
