The two-day trials (August 30\u201331) will determine the squad that will represent India in the second edition of the Pickleball World Cup, sanctioned by the Global Pickleball Federation, to be held in Florida, USA, from October 27 to November 2, 2025.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Over 140 players from across the country, including Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Assam, Rajasthan, Odisha, Haryana, and Gujarat, are competing for a chance to represent India.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
The competition is being held across three categories. In the Under-16 category, two boys and two girls will be selected, with no singles events being played. The Open category will see the men\u2019s and women\u2019s singles winners, along with the men\u2019s and women\u2019s doubles winners, earn their spots in the team.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Meanwhile, in the 50+ category, the men\u2019s doubles and women\u2019s doubles winners will be selected to represent India in the World Cup.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Speaking on the commencement of the trials in a press event, Mr. Suryaveer Singh Bhullar, President, IPA, said, \u201cToday is a landmark day for Indian pickleball as we begin the process of selecting the first official Indian team for the Pickleball World Cup. For the first time, players will represent India under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and the Sports Authority of India, with the Indian Pickleball Association recognised as the National Sports Federation for the sport.\"<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The timing of these trials holds special significance as they coincide with National Sports Day celebrations (August 29\u201331) across the country, making this milestone a fitting tribute to India\u2019s sporting spirit.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
This milestone follows the success of the inaugural World Cup held in Lima, Peru (October 2024), where over 500 players from more than 30 countries participated. With the sport\u2019s global footprint expanding rapidly, India\u2019s participation at the Pickleball World Cup is expected to fuel its rise at home further.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
