The second half saw Chandigarh double their lead on the back of Pooja\u2019s (43\u2019, 48\u2019) brace.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Uttar Pradesh outplay Punjab<\/p>\r\n\r\n

In another women\u2019s encounter, Uttar Pradesh Hockey outplayed Hockey Punjab 5-1 in a preliminary stage match.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Captain Vandana Patel (1\u2019, 17\u2019, 25\u2019, 34\u2019) delivered a spectacular performance while Komal Pal (59\u2019) also etched her name on the scoresheet. In the final minutes of the match, Sukhveer Kaur (60\u2019) scored a consolatory goal for Hockey Punjab.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Uttarakhand men win<\/p>\r\n\r\n

In a men\u2019s encounter, Hockey Uttarakhand defeated Hockey Jammu & Kashmir 11-0. Arpit Kumar Kohli (7\u2019, 9\u2019, 22\u2019) and Mahendra Singh Bisht (37\u2019, 51\u2019, 55\u2019) were clinical in their finishing to score three goals apiece. Also, amongst the scorers were Captain Naveen Prasad (27\u2019), Ankit (41\u2019), Neeraj Ram (45\u2019), Pankaj Kumar (52\u2019) and Rohit Shah (53\u2019).<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Later in the day, Hockey Chandigarh is scheduled to take on Hockey Punjab in the second Men\u2019s encounter.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
