India vs Sri Lanka:<\/strong> Ravindra Jadeja starred as India thrashed Sri Lanka by an inning & 222 runs in the first test match at Mohali's PCA Stadium. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

It was a historic game for Virat Kohli, who was playing his 100th test match while it was the first time Rohit Sharma was leading the test side. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

Rohit won the toss and opted to bat first. All the Indian batters contributed but it was Jadeja's 175* after Rishabh Pant's attacking 96 that took the team to 574\/8. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

After dominating in the batting, the Indian team was in full control with the ball as well. Day two ended with Sri Lanka scoring 108\/4. However, day three was a nightmare for them. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

In the first session of the third day, Sri Lanka lost the remaining six wickets and India had no doubt but to enforce a follow-on. It took India another two sessions to once again bowl out the visitors and win the match in a dominating fashion.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The hero of this match was surely Jadeja, who not only scored 175* but took nine wickets as well in the game. The allrounder was on the verge of making a world record of becoming the first player to score 150+ and take 10 wickets in the same match. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

With this India finished the first test match with two days to spare and lead the two-match series 1-0. The next match will be the pink ball test at Bengaluru from 12th march. <\/p>\r\n\r\n
