Her omission drew criticism from former player Diana Edulji and others.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Verma, who is from Rohtak in Haryana, has an impressive strike in T20 Internationals. She has scored 617 runs in 22 matches at an average of 29.38 and a strike rate of 148.31. She scored 23, 47, and 60 in the three T20 Internationals against South Africa recently.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Shafali will follow the footsteps of India T20I captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who became the first Indian to sign for the WBBL in 2016.
