Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) ended their IPL 2020 campaign on Friday against Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH). The team crashed out of the tournament after losing five matches in a row including the Eliminator match. <\/p>\r\n\r\n
Virat Kohli led side could only manage to score 131 runs in the first innings. Hyderabad had a tricky chase but managed to hold their nerves in the end and completed the chase with two balls to spare. <\/p>\r\n\r\n
Speaking about the loss, RCB coach Simon Katich said that the team ran out of steam in the last phase of the tournament, especially with the bat.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
"We felt we were on track after the 10-game mark and then heading into the last four games, looking back at it now it feels like we ran out of a bit of steam. Particularly with the bat. That's probably the one area that faded a bit after a really good start to the tournament. Credit to the Sunrisers, they squeezed us beautifully, they took early wickets and we were always under pressure trying to play catch-up," felt Katich. <\/p>\r\n\r\n
Captain Kohli also talked about the batting issue in the post-match interview saying there was a bit of nerve and hesitation in the batting which made them less expressive. <\/p>\r\n\r\n
"Few soft dismissals, few fortunate ones for them as well and we just didn't have enough runs on the board. Maybe a bit of nerves, maybe a bit of hesitation, we need to be more expressive with the bat. We didn't have any phases in the game where we got away from the opposition. We just allowed bowlers to bowl to the areas they wanted to and didn't put enough pressure on them. In the last 2-3 games, we have hit it straight to the fielders, lot of good shots going to the fielders.
