    "editor1": "<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Melbourne, Dec 15 (IANS) Australian skipper Michael Clarke will Tuesday undergo surgery to repair his injured right hamstring, Australian team doctor Peter Brukner confirmed Monday.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Clarke injured the hamstring during India&#39;s second innings on the fifth day of the first Test at the Adelaide Oval.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">&quot;Michael was assessed by a surgeon in Melbourne early this evening and will be undergoing surgery tomorrow to repair his injured right hamstring,&quot; Brukner said in a statement.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The team doctor said that hamstring injuries generally don&#39;t require surgeries but the damage suffered by the 33-year-old captain won&#39;t heal through normal recovery process.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">&quot;Whilst surgery is not always required with hamstring injuries, Michael has substantial damage to a key part of the hamstring tendon and it was felt the best course of action was to surgically repair the damaged area,&quot; he said.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">&quot;His recovery and the timing of his return to play will be dependent on the surgeon&rsquo;s advice and how well he recovers in the coming weeks.&rdquo;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n",
