    "editor1": "<p><strong>Sep 12 (CRICKETNMORE)<\/strong> England skipper Joe Root remained unbeaten on 57 as the hosts reached 169\/3 at Tea on Day 1 of the fifth and final Ashes Test at The Oval here on Thursday.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Root was batting on 57 (131 balls, 4x3) and wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow was with him on 22 (33 balls, 4x3) at the break.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Rory Burns (47 off 87 balls; 4x7) missed out on a half-century as he was dismissed just after lunch by Australia&#39;s in-form pacer Josh Hazlewood, caught at mid-on by Mitchell Marsh.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Ben Stokes (20) did not last long as Marsh had the England all-rounder hole out to Nathan Lyon. England were 86\/1 at lunch with Burns batting on 42 and Root on 28.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Australia, who have retained the Ashes after winning the fourth Test and now lead the five-match series 2-1, won the toss and chose to field first.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The visitors made two changes to their playing XI -- Marsh replacing Travis Head and Peter Siddle coming in place of Mitchell Starc.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>England had already announced their playing XI on Wednesday, bringing in Sam Curran and Chris Woakes for Jason Roy and Craig Overton.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The hosts lost Joe Denly (14) early, as Aussie pace spearhead Pat Cummins had him caught by Steve Smith at second slip.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Brief scores: England 1st innings: 169\/3 in 52 overs (Rory Burns 47, Joe Root 57 not out) vs Australia<\/p>\r\n",
