July 12 (CRICKETNMORE) - Sri Lankan opening batsman Dimuth Karunaratne made an unbeaten 158 to help the hosts to 287 all out on the opening day of the first Test against South Africa.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Karunaratne's 158 came off 222 deliveries and contained 13 fours and a pulled six off a Dale Steyn delivery.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada, who came back after an injury, returned with figures of 4-50, while Shamsi took three wickets on a seemingly turning sub-continent pitch.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

In response, South Africa were in trouble at four for one at stumps after veteran spinner Rangana Herath got Aiden Markram out for nought.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
