Perth, November 17 (CRICKETNMORE) Australian batsman Adam Voges was struck by a bouncer on his head and suffered concussion during a Sheffield Shield first class match between Western Australia and Tasmania at the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) ground here on Thursday.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
After the blow he was ruled out of the rest of the four-day match, according to the Cricket Australia's (CA) website.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Voges was batting on 16 when he was struck by a bouncer from fast bowler Cameron Stevenson on the opening day of the match.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
"Voges has been diagnosed with concussion. He is ok, naturally a bit groggy. Being monitored by medicos. Ruled out of rest of game," the Western Australian Cricket Association tweeted.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
The incident follows the death of Australian batsman Phillip Hughes, who died in November 2014 after being hit by a bouncer during a domestic match in Sydney.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
The inquest ruled that Hughes made a "misjudgement" due to which he was fatally struck. His tragic death wasn't because of the bowler or due to the employment of the tactic of bowling short-pitched deliveries by the opposing team.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
It is the second time in the year that Voges has suffered concussion. He was struck on the head by a fielder's throw while playing for the English county Middlesex in May.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
