The 31-year-old Samson came dressed in traditional attire for the ceremony, during which Vijayan handed him a commemorative memento bearing the message, \u201cWe salute Sanju Viswanath Samson.\u201d <\/p>\r\n\r\n
The keepsake also highlighted his crucial contributions during the tournament\u2019s knockout phase, including a 97 off 50 balls against the West Indies in the Super 8 stage, an 89 off 42 in the semifinal against England, and another 89 off 46 in the final versus New Zealand.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
