    "editor1": "<p>The third Rothesay Test of the <strong>England vs India series<\/strong> for the <strong>Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy<\/strong> is to be played at Lord&rsquo;s starting from 10th July 2025. It&rsquo;s one of the two Test grounds in London often referred to as the Home of Cricket. Lord&rsquo;s is the home of Middlesex County Cricket Club, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the ICC Europe.&nbsp;Lord&rsquo;s&nbsp;was the HQ of the ICC till August 2005.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The Test match at Lord&rsquo;s is a major social, cultural event in the England summer &ndash; together with Wimbledon, Silverstone, The Open and Ascot and the arrival of cherry in the markets. Playing a Test at Lord&#39;s, is still considered a pinnacle of a career, to many cricketers.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The ground is privately owned by the Marylebone Cricket Club&nbsp;(MCC). Now with the new Compton and Edrich stands, Lord&rsquo;s has a luxury premium seating offering which guarantees the right to buy a ticket for a designated seat for all the unmissable matches on the cricket calendar.&nbsp;This &pound;52 million reconstruction&nbsp;is designed by one of the world&rsquo;s leading architectural firms Wilkinson&nbsp;Eyre. Another unique feature of the stadium is a massive 8-foot slope from the top to the bottom that has stood the test of time.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><iframe allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"315\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6X-RKLL46vA?si=LcZcFGdMqbtVheex\" title=\"YouTube video player\" width=\"560\"><\/iframe><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>This year, the historic Old Father Time is completing its century at Lord&rsquo;s. This&nbsp;weathervane&nbsp;sits on top of the clock tower, waving the scythe to all corners of the ground.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The MCC Museum, inside the stadium complex, is one of the oldest sporting museums in the world, dedicated to tracing the history and development of cricket. The Ashes Urn is kept here.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The ringing of the five-minute bell at Lord&rsquo;s by an international cricketer, administrator or well-known enthusiast of the sport is a recent tradition introduced in 2007.This bell, is located outside the Bowlers&rsquo; Bar of the Lord&rsquo;s Pavilion.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The stadium has witnessed many notable feats in cricket:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>1884:&nbsp;The first Test at Lord&#39;s (England v Australia) making it England&#39;s third Test venue (behind The Oval and Old Trafford).<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>1976:&nbsp;First women&#39;s match (England v Australia ODI).<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>1987:&nbsp;Bicentenary&nbsp;of MCC marked with a game between MCC and Rest of the World.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>1999: New&nbsp;Media centre opened at the Nursery End.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Graham Gooch hit the first triple-century at Lord&rsquo;s in 1990, against India and his 333 remains the highest individual score at Lord&rsquo;s. He also scored 123 in the second innings of that Test.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>England won Two World Cups here within two years, 2017 Women&rsquo;s World Cup and in 2019 the Men&rsquo;s World Cup.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>In 2021&nbsp;a&nbsp;Covid-19 vaccination centre was opened at Lord&rsquo;s.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The WTC 2025 final was played here between Australia and South Africa.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Overall Record for England: Played 145, Won 59, Lost 35, Draw 51<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>India Connection<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>India has a better record at Lord&rsquo;s: Played 19, Won 3 (1986, 2014 and 2021), Lost 12, Draw 4. Of the last three Tests played here between these two sides, India has won twice.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Other notable performances:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Although Saurav Ganguly made 131 as his debut Test century here in June 1996 but he is more famous for waving his shirt, bare-chested, after India won the NatWest Final at Lord&rsquo;s in 2002.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>In 1983 India won the World Cup here under Kapil Dev.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>1886: The Parsees&nbsp;became&nbsp;the first team from India to play at Lord&rsquo;s.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>In 1952 Vinoo Mankad scored 184 and claimed 5\/196 for India against England.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>In 1987&nbsp;Bicentenary&nbsp;of MCC was celebrated here with a match between MCC and Rest of the World. Sunil Gavaskar scored 188 in the second innings.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>In 1998: Sachin Tendulkar scored 125 in W.G. Grace 150th Anniversary match.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>&bull; Indian cricketers who have played for Middlesex County Cricket Club: This relationship started with Rustom Cooper (played between 1949 and 1951), and at one time he held the record of Middlesex&rsquo;s oldest first-class cricketer, aged 97 years, 183 days old.
