    "editor1": "<p><strong>Mumbai, October 17<\/strong> - Following the appointment of Shashank Manohar as its new president, the Board of Control for Cricket in India&#39;s (BCCI) working committee has called a meeting here on Sunday to discuss several issues regarding the game in the country.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>It has been learnt that the fate of the two suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will be the primary point of discussion, alongside PepsiCo&#39;s move to withdraw as the lead sponsor of the IPL and fixing the date of the next annual general meeting of the BCCI.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Sunday&#39;s meeting is seen as vital for the two IPL franchises, who were earlier suspended by the Supreme Court following Justice R.M. Lodha committee&#39;s report on the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The working committee will be chaired by newly-appointed BCCI president Manohar, who took over the reins for the second time after the post became vacant due to the demise of Jagmohan Dalmiya.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The IPL working group under chief Rajiv Shukla has called for fresh bidding to make the lucrative tournament an eight-team event, keeping in mind the demands from the broadcasters and sponsors.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The date of the next annual general meeting of the board is also likely to be finalised in Sunday&#39;s meeting.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Soon after his appointment, Manohar made it clear that the board will work in a transparent manner for the betterment of the game in the country.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>(IANS)<\/p>\r\n",
