Voges (130* from 247 balls) also becomes the oldest man (35 years) in the cricket history to score a hundred in his first Test and the 20th Australian to achieve the feat.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Australia were struggling for 6-126 but Voges along with little contributions from lower tail - N Lyon (22), Johnson (20) and Hazlewood (39) helped Australia to reach a respectable total of 318 in reply to the home side's 148. For West Indies Leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo took career-best figures of 6-80.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

West Indies ended the day with 25\/2 on scoreboard. With both the openers gone, it will tough for the home side to bounce back in the game as they are still trailing by 145 runs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Day 1<\/strong> - Host West Indies were bowled out for just 148 on the opening day of the first Test against the Australia at Dominica. Australia's pace attack of Mitchell Johnson (3\/34), Josh Hazlewood (3\/33) and Mitchell Starc (2\/48) shared eight wickets between them as all West Indian batsmen struggled to score. Shai Hope (36) remained the top scorer for West Indies.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Australia ended the day with 85\/3. Steve Smith (17) and debutant Adam Voges (20) were not out at the close with Australia trailing by 63 runs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
