1. Spot Fixing Controversy

The involvement of some players in match fixing, came into light on May 16,2013, after Delhi Police arrested three Rajasthan Royals players – Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan on grounds of spot-fixing.

Later on, Vindoo Dara Singh (Actor), Gurunath Meiyappan ( A top official of Chennai Super Kings & son-in-law of BCCI president N Srinivasan) and several bookies were also found to be embroiled in the whole fixing-game.

The series of events led to BCCI President N. Srinivasan stepping down on 2 June 2013.


2. Sreesanth-Harbhajan slap gate Episode


It was during the first season of the IPL in 2008 when two of the Team India's best team mates got involved in ugly slap gate incident. This happened after a match when Harbhajan Singh (Mumbai) probably could not digest the defeat of his team and ended up slapping fast bowler Sreesanth (Punjab). Though the actual reasons of conflict between the two players remain unclear to this day, An inconsolable Sreesanth was seen crying like a baby and the cameras present there captured these moments which was really a new low in the history of Indian Cricket.

 

3. End of Lalit Modi Chapter


The man behind the origin and success of IPL, Lalit Modi was shown the door. The BCCI in 2010 took a bold decision to remove Lalit Modi after allegations about fraud and mismanagement of funds came to the light. 


4. Shah Rukh Khan banned from Wankhede Stadium


Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was banned by the Mumbai Cricket Association for five years from entering the Wankhede Stadium for misbehaving with its officials in an IPL game on 16th May 2012 between KKR and Mumbai Indians.


 

5. Ravindra Jadeja banned for one season


In 2010, Ravindra Jadeja was banned from playing in IPL after trying to sign a new contract with another franchise (allegedly Mumbai Indians) without informing his team Rajasthan Royals for whom he had played in earlier season.
