March 18 (CRICKETNMORE) - South Africa registered an eight-wicket victory over New Zealand in the second Test at Wellington on Saturday. A career best performance from left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj played a crucial role in the Proteas victory. Maharaj took six for 40 as the Black Caps were all out for 171 in their second innings leaving South Africa with a victory target of 81.

The visitors achieved the target in 25 overs, with Hashim Amla 38 not out and JP Duminy unbeaten on 15. South Africa is now leading three test series 1-0 with the third and final Test in Hamilton starting from 24th March.
