August 17 (CRICKETNMORE) - England have announced their playing XI for the first test against West Indies starting from Thursday at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Mark Stoneman will be the lone change to England's side captain Joe Root announced.

The first match of the series will also be the inaugural test to be played under lights in England. So far, 4 day-night test matches have been played. While West Indies have played one in the past against Pakistan, this will the first for the homeside.
