August 18 (CRICKETNMORE) - England finished first day at 348/3 against West Indies in the first Test at Edgbaston. Alastair Cook and Joe Root marked England’s first ever day-night Test with centuries. It was 31st century for Cook and 13th for Joe Root.

The captain and former captain added 248 runs for the third wicket partnership.Root made 136 and Cook was not out on 153 at stumps.
